Inside Onward: How This COO Powerhouse Delivers Seamless Client Experiences, Every Time

Let’s get right to it—what defines a seamless client experience at Onward?

For us, a seamless client experience means there’s never a moment of “What’s going on?” From first touchpoint to final debrief, our clients always know what’s happening, why it matters, and what comes next.

That clarity is everything. But we also know creative work needs space to breathe. So we’ve built internal systems that map out every step of the production process—without boxing us in. We use tools like Monday.com to track milestones, updates, and check-ins. But sometimes? You just need to pick up the phone.

It’s all about removing the guesswork while keeping the magic alive.

Creative freedom vs. operational efficiency—how do you strike the balance?

Honestly? It ebbs and flows. And that’s where the fun is.

We believe the best ideas come from structured freedom. Our creative team gets the runway they need to experiment and dream big—but we time-box that freedom so we’re not stuck in “analysis paralysis.”

My role is often the translator between vision and execution. I make sure big ideas stay aligned with timelines, budgets, and project goals. Because here’s the secret: real creativity thrives within smart constraints. That’s the framework we build into every project.

From a production standpoint, what’s the most overlooked part of a video shoot?

Pre-production. Hands down.

People often think planning a shoot is just booking a time and locking down a location—but it’s so much deeper than that. Who’s on site? When are they arriving? What do they need? What’s the lighting like at noon vs. 4 p.m.? Is there background noise? Is there parking?

Even the small stuff—like whether an interview subject feels comfortable—can make or break a shoot day. Our job is to anticipate all of it in advance, so when we show up on set, we’re not putting out fires. We’re capturing stories.

So what’s the Onward difference, in a nutshell?

We make content that moves people—but we back it with a system that keeps everything on track. No chaos, no confusion. Just great stories, told well, and delivered with intention.

It’s not just about what we create—it’s how we make the experience feel for our clients. That’s what keeps them coming back.
